Please use the contact form if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes, absolutely! Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise that is suitable and beneficial for everyone, and Horizon Pilates classes cater for all abilities.
Before joining classes, you will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire, in which you can outline any injuries, medical conditions or concerns you may have. I will then discuss these with you prior to you starting classes and, where necessary, I will adapt exercises to accommodate your individual needs.
Classes are limited to 12 spaces to ensure everybody receives the individual attention they need to get the most from the class.
Yes! And my ‘first class free’ offer is the perfect opportunity to give Pilates a try.
Throughout the class, I will give options and alternatives to allow everyone to practice each exercise at the level suitable for them. Additionally, classes are limited to 12 spaces to ensure everybody receives the individual attention they need to get the most from the class.
No, all equipment will be provided. All you need to bring is yourself.
If you want to bring your own equipment you are welcome to do so. In all classes we will use a mat, head block, sitting block and resistance band. In some classes we may use additional equipment and you will be notified of this in advance so you can bring the correct equipment if you have it and wish to bring it. Whatever you do not have will be provided.
Please wear whatever you feel able to freely move in. Fitted exercise gear, such as leggings, is helpful as it will allow me to observe and correct your positioning more easily, however it is not essential. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable.
Pilates is not a high-intensity, aerobic form of exercise, and you will spend a significant part of the class lying on a mat. You may therefore, want to wear warmer clothing or more layers than you would for other, more cardio-based forms of exercise.
Yes, both venues have their own car parks. Additional parking is also available on the roads nearby the venues with no restrictions in place after 6pm on weekdays nor on Sundays.
To give you the chance to try Pilates, and to see if Horizon Pilates is a good fit for you, I allow everyone to attend their first class for free, and without committing to a block.
If you enjoy your first class and decide you would like to continue attending Horizon Pilates classes you can then sign up for a block or book individual classes (more info below).
All classes must be booked in advance by emailing me at rachael@horizonpilates.co.uk or using the contact form on this website , including your first, free class. Prior to your first class, you will need to complete an enrolment form and medical questionnaire, which will be sent to you by email.
Classes are £9 when bought as a block, or £12 for individual drop-ins. Blocks will generally be six to eight weeks long, depending on holidays. If you know you will not be able to attend one class in a block you can still sign up for the block but skip payment for that week’s class, as long as you inform me in advance of the block starting and prior to payment.
If you know you are going to miss more than one class you can still sign-up for the block but you will only be able to skip one week’s payment. Signing up for the block will generally be more cost effective unless you are going to miss three or more classes. Classes are limited to 12 attendees and priority will be given to those signing up for the block.
You can also switch to a different class to make up for missed classes, as long as the class you switch to is in the same block and depending on availability.
You can book and pay for individual classes. Individual classes are £11.
As classes are limited to 12 spaces, everyone attending must book in advance and priority will be given to those booking for the block. If you wish to attend individual classes please email me as far in advance as you can and I will respond to confirm whether there is space in the class you wish to attend.
If you ‘drop-in’ on the class without booking in advance I will not be able to guarantee you a space.
